After finishing the novel

After I have read the whole book, I´m very pleased about that. Now I can follow the story more than at the beginning. And so, my first impressions changed a little bit, because after reading the whole novel, all ambiguous things became clear.
Maybe a pregnant woman should not read the novel, because the pregnancy is demonstrated very complicated with a lot of beef :) and a lot of breaking up. That could frustrate the pregnant woman.
Who is telling the story and what effect does this have?
Sam is telling the story and that has the effect, that the reader is on Sam´s side. The reader feels with Sam. And can´t really comprehend the other sides. The reader gets the most information, of the characters, about Sam.
Do you enjoy reading the novel?
Yes and No!! Sometimes I enjoyed to read the novel so much, that I couldn´t stop reading it. For example at the beginning, before he whizzed into the future. Or the time, when they are going to the NCT class :). But sometimes I couldn´t read along, because it was very drowsy (einschläfernd). Sometimes the conversations or the thaughts of Sam were so long and unimportant.

After having read more than half the novel

Now I have read until chapter 16 and it happened a lot of important things. Sam had his first girlfriend, Alicia, and they have got a baby together. After the baby was one hour old, Sam´s mother and Alicia´s mother discussed about the surname of the little Rufus. But when Alicia´s father came into the cubicle, Alicia finished the discussion. Because she said the surname would be Sam´s surname. Sam´s mother has a new boyfriend, Mark, and they will get a baby too.
The life after Roof´s birth is exactly the same as it was announced in the whizzer into the future.

I´m very annoyed about the whizzer into the future, because it disturbs the reading. And about the fact, that Sam doesn´t understand anything. He seems to be stupid. And he needs a long time to understand things.

* Is the person "Sam" still alive or is it an imaginary person?

The NCT class

Up to the middle of the novel

At first my feelings don´t change, because for me it is so weird, that Sam whizzed into the future. To read this was so confusing, because I didn´t understand wether it was a dream or it is the reality. But then it became obvious to me that he whizzed into the future and my feelings changed a little bit. Everything is getting a bit clearer, because Sam is in the presence again and Alicia and Sam tell their parents that she is pregnant. They go to the NCT class together like a normal couple and they get back together. That´s nice :). I as the author would have changed the book so, that the reader knows earlier the different times of action, because then there are no missunderstandings.

I would like to direct a question to Alicia, if she is pleased about the baby or she is keeping it, only because she doesn´t want to kill a baby ?

After reading the first two chapters, I feel a little bit confused. Sam an Alicia met at a party and in the first moment they don´t speak to each other. At first Sam doesn´t really like Alicia, because she seems to be arrogant and she knows, that she is gorgeous. Alicia also isn´t really interested in Sam. She isn´t interested in a conversation with him, because she doesn´t like the parties of her parents. But suddenly they like themselves, only because Sam tells Alicia his opinion about her, that he finds her arrogant. I find it very brave and good of him to say this to an arrogant person, but I wonder why he likes that arrogant person nevertheless. After that, the conversation changes rather quickly to the arrangement of the first date. Suddenly they talk about sex, although they know each other only for about two hours. After that Sam´s thoughts are only about sex with Alicia. That´s a little bit strange, isn´t it? :)
Yes, that´s my opinion to the first two chapters :) and I don´t have any connections between the book and my life. I can´t find them.
My predictions about possible future developments could be, that the friendship of Alicia and Sam is nearly over, because they don´t know each other good enough, maybe for Sam it runs too fast. Maybe Sam has not enough time for skating, because of the relationship to Alicia, then his friends would be angry. It also can be the opposite, that Sam has no time for Alicia, because of the skating and then Alicia would be angry. So Sam would be in a dilemma.
